THE SPIS MUSEUM
The Spis Museum, a branch of the Slovak National Museum, runs four different exhibitions. Three of them, the Old Town Hall, the House of Master Paul and ?Art in the Spis Region,? are located in Levoca. The Museum also manages the Spis Castle, one of the largest castle compounds in Europe, which together with the city of Levoca, are listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
An interesting branch of museum is the Old Townhall of Levoca, where you can in depth learn about the life in the medieval royal town. Interesting documents from the Levoca history are presented. The most interesting is an authentic townhall room with original furnishing, where the town council convened for centuries. Here they decided about the life and prosperity of the Levoca burghers.
